Pointillism
Pointillism is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image. Georges Seurat and Paul Signac developed the technique in 1886, branching from Impressionism. The term "Pointillism" was first coined by art critics in the late 1880s to ridicule the works of these artists, and is now used without its earlier mocking connotation. The movement Seurat began with this technique is known as Neo-Impressionism. The Divisionists, too, used a similar technique of patterns to form images, though with larger cube-like brushstrokes.
Lines
Line art or line drawing is any image that consists of
distinct straight or curved lines placed against a (usually plain)
background, without gradations in shade (darkness) or hue (color)
to represent two-dimensional or three-dimensional objects. Line art can
use lines of different colors, although line art is usually
monochromatic. Line art emphasizes form and outline, over color, shading, and texture.
Shapes (Negative and Positive)
A shape is the form of an object or its external boundary,
outline, or external surface, as opposed to other properties such as
color, texture, or material composition.
A variety of polygonal shapes.
Some simple shapes can be put into broad categories. For instance, polygons are classified according to their number of edges as triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, etc. Each of these is divided into smaller categories; triangles can be equilateral, isosceles, obtuse, acute, scalene, etc. while quadrilaterals can be rectangles, rhombi, trapezoids, squares, etc.
Other common shapes are points, lines, planes, and conic sections such as ellipses, circles, and parabolas.
Texture
Texture has to do with how an object feels and it's ingredients. Texture
is very important in objects and clothes such as a cotton shirt has a different texture
than a polyester shirt.

Value
In mixing colors hues can be desaturated (reduced in purity, weakened) in one of three ways: mix with white to lighten the value (tint), mix with black to darken the value (shade), or mix with gray or the complement to either lighten or darken the value ( tone).
